Living Wage
Accreditation

We believe a hard days work, deserves a fair days pay

The Real Living Wage is a voluntary rate of pay that is higher than the UK government’s minimum wage, designed to ensure that workers can earn a wage that meets the cost of living. The rate is calculated based on the cost of living in the UK and is updated annually to reflect changes in living costs.

The Real Living Wage is a campaign that was launched in 2001 by Citizens UK, a national community organizing charity, and has since gained the support of many employers across the UK. It is a way for employers to show their commitment to paying their staff fairly and to help reduce in-work poverty.

Employers who choose to pay the Real Living Wage have reported benefits such as increased productivity, reduced staff turnover, and improved staff morale. Additionally, paying the Real Living Wage can improve a company’s reputation and help attract and retain high-quality employees.

To become accredited as a Real Living Wage employer, companies must commit to paying all their employees, including contractors and subcontractors, at least the Real Living Wage. Employers are also encouraged to review their pay rates annually and to make adjustments as necessary to ensure that their staff continue to earn a wage that meets the cost of living.
