Importing Personal Effects
Documents required to import personal effects to Germany from the UK:
- Copy of passport
- Inventory/packing list with value
- Registration in Germany (to receive at local town hall)
- A letter (best by employer, which clearly states, that client used to live and work outside the EU, for minimum last 12 months)
- UK council tax bills from the last 12 months and rental contract (if possible)
- Declaration about exact residence period outside of EU
- If UK citizen or any other non-EU Citizen: work contract
- Completed customs document and Zollvollmacht document

We will present all papers once returned to our customs agents, who will then advise if everything is in place to clear customs or if customs in Germany would require any further information and documentation. Importing Vehicles
Documents required to import vehicles into Germany from the UK for private use:
- Copy of ownership document- needs to show ownership of vehicle has been for 6 months or longer
- After vehicle has cleared customs, it will need to go to a vehicle registration office for a technical inspection. A title won’t be issued until this inspection has taken place.
Please note this is also a guide only and we will need to have approval from our customs agent before moving. Further documents can be requested by German customs.
