Importing Personal Effects
Information about importing personal effects. Documents required for moving from the UK to Spain depend on if you are an expat or a returning Spanish citizen:)
Expat:

NIE Card (ID given to all foreigners living in Spain)

A declared depreciated value of the effects that you are moving to Spain for Spanish customs

Cancelation of residency in UK- a letter from local council confirming you are no longer registered to vote is a useful document to provide for this
- Certificado de Empadronomiento (registration of residency at local town hall)
Returning Spanish citizens:
- Copy of passport
- Copy of DNI (Spanish identity card)
- A declared depreciated value of the effects that you are moving to Spain for Spanish customs
- Change of residence certificate from Spanish consulate or embassy in the UK (Known in Spanish as Baja Consular
- Certificado de Empadronomiento (registration of residency at local town hall)

We will present all papers once returned to our customs agents, who will then advise if everything is in place to clear customs or if customs in Spain would require any further information and documentation. If you are unable to provide any of the requested documents, we can check with our agents and ask if any alternative documents/information can be provided instead.
Importing Vehicles
- Original title
- Valid Registration documents from origin
- Purchase invoice (showing you have owned the vehicle for at least one year and paid taxes on it)
- Other documents related to the vehicle may also be required
Please note this is also a guide only and we will need to have approval from our customs agent before moving. Further documents can be requested by Spanish customs.
Moving Pets
We would recommend contacting a specialist pet moving company for more information. As a guide a vaccination certificate and certificate of health is required. In some Spanish cities, an annual payment for a license can be required to keep a dog.
Prohibitions and Restrictions:
Items such as food, plants, arms for personal use, explosives and ammunitions cannot be imported to Spain from the UK.
Importing plants do you need a Phytosanitary certificate. As per FIDI guide, cannot import plants to Spain.
