Spring has finally sprung!

There appears to be a frenzy of spring-cleaning and de-cluttering going on at the moment in the beautiful and scenic areas of Norfolk and Suffolk. Along with this comes the urge for people to spread their wings after the ‘hibernation’ period of winter. Having decided that their homes are too big, too small, too much or not enough garden or just for the change of scene, For Sale signs are springing up all over the place. Having come through our ‘quiet period’ and I’m using that phrase tentatively we are now charging headlong into the ‘Spring Rush’, albeit a little later than usual.
Of course, once a house is on the market there are many things to consider and the removal is very rarely on the top of the agenda. Here at Alan Cook Removals we know this. However, to ensure the actual day goes smoothly, we do like to be prepared! It all starts with a quote! A quick call to our friendly, and, above all, helpful staff in the office and an appointment is made.
There is no such thing as an ‘average’ house so this visit is important to establish exactly what will be required on move day. It also gives an opportunity to discuss any special items a customer may want to be given special consideration, from spa baths to fish tanks, pool tables to piano’s, oil paintings to grandmothers original cut crystal glassware. We have moved some very strange items, with the practiced ease of experienced professionals, of course. The quote can be done to include any additional services, such as dismantling, packing, export wrapping, even collecting that additional dining table from Great Aunt Frieda’s. Once the exchange has happened and the completion date is set at least there is no sudden panic, the removal will go smoothly!

About 11% of the UK population moves home every year - with a population boasting over 62,641,000 - that’s a lot of people moving house!
After reading quite a few studies and some in-depth research, it would seem York is the place us Brits would most like to live - and the historic city also came top of the list for the most beautiful cities in the UK. Bath was close in second place, followed by Brighton and Hove, Edinburgh and Truro in Cornwall, although it would still seem that over 70% of us would prefer not to leave the region we live in, but would instead simply like to move to another town in the same area!
It was also interesting to learn that if we do move, we are far more likely to choose the countryside, almost 50% of us, with 30% choosing to live near the beach and just 20% opting for city living!
..and did you know, over 5 million British Citizens have moved overseas and four thousand more departing each week! The most popular countries being Australia, Canada, Spain, France, New Zealand and the States.

A New Addition to Our Fleet of Vehicles!

With the demand for our removal services being on the increase, we're proud to introduce another new vehicle to our ever explanding fleet. The best bit of all is that our new vehicle (the second of its kind within our fleet), has a Euro IV engine which means it complies with the Low Emission Zone regulations implemented in January this year. Perfect for London and other busy districts. We've been pleased to put our new vehicle to use straight away!
In total, we now have 11 vehicles within our fleet and we're pretty convinced that if you're a road user in Norfolk and Suffolk (and sometimes further afield), you'll have seen our vans moving customer after customer; all with with care, precision and good humour! (We like to take the stress out of moving for our customers - it is afterall deemed one of the most stressful events that can happen in a lifetime!).
